Many Trinitarians struggle to grasp how Elohim can be One while also being called the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in different contexts. They assume these must be three distinct persons because of how the terms are used in Scripture. However, this can be explained logically and biblically in a way that makes sense.

1. Understanding the Difference Between “Who Elohim Is” and “What Elohim Does”
- Who is Elohim? → He is One (Deuteronomy 6:4).
- What does Elohim do? → He reveals Himself in different roles (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit).
- These are titles or manifestations, not separate persons.
Example: A Single Person with Different Roles
Think about yourself. You can be:
- A father to your children.
- A son to your parents.
- A worker at your job.
These are all roles you have, but you are still one person. The same is true for Elohim.
2. Elohim Is a Spirit and He Is Holy → That Means He IS the Holy Spirit
Before Elohim created anything, what was He?
✔ John 4:24 – “Elohim is a Spirit.”
✔ Leviticus 11:44 – “For I am holy.”
So before creation, Elohim was simply the Holy Spirit. There was no “Father” or “Son” yet because those are titles that describe Elohim’s actions.
- Elohim became “Father” when He created.
- Elohim became “Son” when He took on flesh as Jesus Hamashiach.
- Elohim remained the Holy Spirit because He is always Spirit.
Example: A Teacher Becomes a Principal
Imagine a teacher who works in a school.
- At first, he is just a teacher.
- Later, he becomes a principal (a new title based on what he does).
- But he is still the same person.
Elohim was always the Holy Spirit, but when He created mankind, He became the Father. When He came in flesh, He was called the Son.
3. The Father and the Holy Spirit Are Not Two Separate Persons
Many Trinitarians believe that the Father and the Holy Spirit are separate persons. But let’s check the Bible:
✔ Matthew 1:18 (KJV)
“Mary was found with child of the Holy Ghost.”
✔ Luke 1:35 (KJV)
“The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of Elohim.”
So, who is the Father of Jesus?
- If the Father and the Holy Spirit are separate persons, then the Holy Spirit is actually Jesus’ Father.
- But Trinitarians say the Father is Jesus’ Father.
- This only makes sense if the Father and the Holy Spirit are the same being.
Example: A Man is Both a CEO and an Investor
- A man starts a company (He is the Founder).
- He invests money into it (He is the Investor).
- He manages the company daily (He is the CEO).
He has different titles, but he is the same person.
Likewise, the Father and the Holy Spirit are not two persons—they are just different roles of the One Elohim.
4. The “Son” Is the Flesh, Not a Separate Person
The Son of Elohim does not mean a second divine person. It refers to the human body that Elohim took on.
✔ 1 Timothy 3:16 (KJV)
“Elohim was manifest in the flesh…”
✔ John 1:14 (KJV)
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us.”
✔ Isaiah 9:6 (KJV)
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given… and his name shall be called… The mighty Elohim, The everlasting Father.”
Jesus is not a separate person from the Father—He IS the Father manifested in the flesh.
Example: Water in Different Forms
Water can exist in three forms:
- Liquid (Water)
- Solid (Ice)
- Gas (Steam)
Each has a different form, but it is still H₂O.
In the same way, Jesus is Elohim in a different form (flesh), but He is still the same Elohim.
5. In the End, the Son Will Be Subject to the Father
Many Trinitarians argue that Jesus prayed to the Father and was subject to Him. But the Bible explains why:
✔ Philippians 2:7-8 (KJV)
“But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death…”
✔ 1 Corinthians 15:28 (KJV)
“And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that Elohim may be all in all.”
- Jesus, in His humanity, had to pray, obey, and submit as an example for us.
- But once His mission is complete, the Sonship (His role as a man) will be fully submitted to Elohim, and Elohim will be ALL in ALL.
Example: A Soldier Submitting to a General
- A general goes undercover as a soldier to save his men.
- While undercover, he follows orders like any other soldier.
- But once the mission is over, he returns to his full authority as the general.
Jesus humbled Himself as a man, but in the end, He will be fully revealed as the Almighty Elohim (Revelation 1:8).
🔹 Summary for a Trinitarian
- Elohim is One Spirit (John 4:24), and that Spirit is Holy → Elohim is the Holy Spirit.
- Elohim became “Father” when He created and became “Son” when He took on flesh.
- The Holy Spirit and the Father are the same Being (Matthew 1:18, Luke 1:35).
- The Son is not a separate person, but the human body of Elohim (1 Timothy 3:16, John 1:14).
- In the end, the Sonship will submit to the Father, and Elohim will be ALL in ALL (1 Corinthians 15:28).
