Many Christian sects believe when they are born from above that they do not need to keep the commandments of God or observe YAH’s sabbaths, new moons or feast days, is this true?
No — that belief is not true according to Scripture. The Word of YAH makes it clear that being born from above does not cancel obedience to His commandments, Sabbaths, feast days, or laws.
Instead, being born again is a call to walk in obedience, having His laws written in the heart, and becoming a faithful servant under His everlasting covenant.

📖 What Does It Mean to Be Born Again?
📖 John 3:3 (KJV)
“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
📖 John 3:5 (KJV)
“Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”
This new birth is spiritual — being washed (repentance + baptism) and filled with the Spirit, so that one no longer lives in sin.
🔥 Being Born Again Does Not Cancel the Commandments
📖 1 John 2:3–4 (KJV)
“And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.”
📖 Romans 6:1–2 (KJV)
“Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid…”
📖 1 John 3:9–10 (KJV)
“Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin… In this the children of God are manifest… whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God…”
➤ Being born of God means you stop breaking His law — sin is defined as transgression of the law (1 John 3:4).
📅 Are We Still to Keep the Sabbaths, New Moons, and Feasts?
YES — They Are Eternal Signs and Statutes
📖 Leviticus 23:1–2 (KJV)
“…the feasts of the Lord, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.”
📖 Exodus 31:16–17 (KJV)
“Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath… for a perpetual covenant. It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever…”
📖 Zechariah 14:16 (KJV)
“…every one that is left of all the nations… shall go up from year to year to worship the King… and to keep the feast of tabernacles.”
➤ The Sabbath and feast days are still required — they are eternal signs for the obedient.
🛑 Warning to Those Who Despise the Commandments
📖 Isaiah 66:23–24 (KJV)
“…from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord.” And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me…”
📖 Hebrews 10:26–27 (KJV)
“For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins…”
✅ Summary: What Scripture Teaches
| False Claim | Scripture’s Truth |
|---|---|
| Being born again means you no longer need to keep the law | Being born again means you are empowered to obey the law (Ezek. 36:26–27) |
| Sabbaths and feast days are done away with | They are forever, and will be kept in the kingdom (Exo. 31:17, Zech. 14:16) |
| Grace means we can break commandments | Grace teaches us to deny ungodliness and live righteously (Titus 2:11–12) |
📖 Closing Precept:
📖 Ecclesiastes 12:13 (KJV)
“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.”
